Blado certainly looks like he's doing his job, but it's becoming more and more obvious his heart is no longer in it. Part of him wants a co-worker to say something about it; the other part of him dreads the conversation.
— Figurine description • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

Blado is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby: Canvas Curse. It is completely invincible.

Physical Appearance

Blado is a variant of Gordo. As such, it is a black ball with eyes. It wears a permanent scowl and has four ax blades instead of spikes. Blado is usually attached to a chain.

Games

Kirby: Canvas Curse

Blado often moves in a circular motion, injuring Kirby if he touches it. In some cases, Blado will swing from side to side like a pendulum.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

Blado retains its role from the previous game, moving in a circular motion in an attempt to hit Kirby and his Bandana Waddle Dee companions.

Kirby Star Allies

Blado makes its first appearance in a traditional platformer during the boss fight against Yggy Woods. The tree elder drops Blados from his branches, which rapidly roll forward upon landing on the ground. This is the only time when Blados are found in this game.

Trivia

  • Blado bears a strong resemblance to Blasto* from Kirby's Block Ball; both wear glaring expressions, have spherical black bodies, and a Blado's blades look similar to a Blasto's bumps.
    • The two also share the distinction of being apparent variations of Gordo.
