Boomer is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Dream Land.
Physical Appearance
Boomer is a small elf wearing red clothing. He has a round head, an oval-shaped body and walks around barefoot. The enemy's body is a cream-colored yellow. Boomer also wields a blue boomerang with light-blue tips.
Games
Kirby's Dream Land
Boomer serves as the Extra Game equivalent of Sir Kibble. Boomer throws boomerangs at Kirby. The boomerangs are faster than Sir Kibble's cutters and can be thrown two at a time, but deal the same amount of damage. If Kirby makes contact with the enemy, he takes two points of damage.
While Boomer hasn't appeared in any games since Kirby's Dream Land, Poppy Bros. Jr. and Perot are similar enemies and have the ability to throw boomerangs much like this classic enemy.
In the Anime
Boomer in the anime
Boomer has a small cameo appearance in the anime episode Cowardly Creature. Other cameo members include Mr. Frosty, Yaban, Whiskers, Jukid, Dogon, Poppy Bros. Jr., and Hot Head.
When Phan Phan escapes, Customer Service turns to Dedede to help return him. Dedede is angry at him, and tells him that he should be ashamed for letting him escape. But Customer Service says that he wasn't in his care at the time. He goes on to explain that he was at the "Monster Training School." Boomer is one of the few monsters to be shown in the training school. He, along with Dogon, is a member of the Moon Class, which is the second strongest of the whole school, and is surpassed only by the Snow Class. Instead of throwing a boomerang, he balances on a rolling barrel. It is not known what becomes of him after Nightmare is destroyed, neither is it known if he even finishes training school and becomes a full-fledged monster by the end of the series.
Unlike many of the other characters in the anime, Boomer has exactly the same design that he did in the original games.
Etymology
Boomer's name is derived from the word boomerang, referencing its projectiles.
