Bounder is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Adventure. It yields no Copy Ability when inhaled.

Physical Appearance

In its first three games, Bounder resembles a small child with two large eyes, a large circular head, two circular hands, a black body, and tan skin. In Kirby's Toy Box, it has white skin, red eyes, red clothing, and purple feet. In Kirby Super Star, it wears blue clothing, and an orange backpack with a single strap around its neck. It has tan skin, red feet, eyes with blue irises, and an orange protrusion coming out the back of its head. Bounder no longer has arms to connect its hands to its body.

Games

Kirby's Adventure

Bounder makes its first appearance in this game. It clings to walls and sometimes jumps from them in an effort to hit Kirby. They are also capable of throwing small stars.

While Bounder made an appearance in this game, it did not appear in its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land and was replaced by another enemy, Gip, in it. The only difference between Bounder and Gip is in appearance- their attacks are the same. The reasons for this change are not known.

Kirby's Block Ball

Bounder appears as an enemy in King Dedede's Castle. It climbs up and down a column of Metal Blocks and, after three hits, drops a Crash item.

Kirby Super Star

Bounder reappears in this title, behaving similarly to how it did in Kirby's Adventure. However, Bounder is again replaced by Gip in this game's remake, Kirby Super Star Ultra, for unknown reasons.

Other Games

Bounders also make appearances in Kirby's Pinball Land and Kirby's Block Ball. In these games, they are far more rare - there are only two of them in the top stage of Whispy Woods Land. They also behave slightly differently - they are passive and will only continue to climb their territory. In addition, Bounder makes a cameo in both versions of Megaton Punch.

Trivia

  • Rolling Turtle, Capsule J, Togezo, and Bounder are currently the only enemies to have been replaced by other enemies in their respective game's remake.
