Crystal Shard

From Kirby Wiki

The team finding their last shard.

Crystal Shards are important collectibles in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. These rare artifacts are the remains of the Power Crystal, a very rare crystal that guards Ripple Star from harm. When Dark Matter invades Ripple Star to destroy the Power Crystal, a young Fairy named Ribbon flies off to protect it. But she loses control, crashes onto Pop Star, and realizes that the Power Crystal was smashed into roughly 100 small shards that scatter themselves on a few surrounding planets. It is then up to Kirby, Ribbon, a Waddle Dee, Adeleine, and King Dedede to collect every shard.

Shards are iridescent and radiate power. When two or more Crystal Shards are put together, they combine to slowly recreate their former glory.

[edit] Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

Crystal Shards can be found just lying around in each stage, or in the possession of a miniboss or boss. Occasionally they are hidden behind colored barriers, which can only be broken by hitting them with the copy ability(s) with the corresponding color (or colors). For example, a green and red block would correspond to Cutter and Burning, respectively, so Kirby must break it with Fire Sword.

Collecting every last one will grant the player the right to fight the real final boss, Zero Two.
