The dynamite you toss can harm you, so press and hold Down on the +Control Pad to protect yourself with a hard hat.”
— Description • Nintendo Power (Volume #134)
Dynamite is a combination Copy Ability used in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards made by combining the Stone and Bomb abilities. Kirby chucks a bundle of dynamite sticks to destroy enemies, star blocks or elemental barriers. Kirby can kick the dynamite around by walking into it, but it will ricochet off walls and such, making it difficult for Kirby to aim precisely at enemies, and Kirby must move quickly, because he only has a few seconds before the dynamite explodes. Kirby may also duck for cover and don a hardhat to prevent being damaged during the explosion. This is one of Kirby's most powerful mix abilities in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It deals more damage than any other mix in the game.
When Kirby ducks down when the dynamite is lit, he produces a hardhat and covers his head with it to prevent harm from the explosion. However, it will not protect him from regular damage. The hard hat he wears is yellow with a white band around the middle and has a green cross on the front (the most commonly represented form of hard hat in Japan).
Kirby throws dynamite in front of him. Before the dynamite explodes, Kirby can kick it around by walking into it.
↓ (After Dynamite is thrown)
Kirby crouches and covers himself with a hardhat, which protects him from the dynamite's explosion. This will not protect Kirby from any other hazard.
Kirby throws a powerful bundle of dynamite that blows up enemies on contact or detonates after a few seconds if left untouched. He dons a protective hardhat if you press Down on the + Control Pad[sic] before detonation.”

Like the single bomb power, Kirby tosses dynamite. Be very careful though. The explosions are very large and can damage Kirby unless he's far away. Press ↓ to make Kirby put on the helmet and avoid the explosion.”
