In the graveyard, some tombstones aren't what they seem. Some cover secret passages, and others are actually enemies. When in doubt, hurl yourself against a tombstone and see what happens.

Gravey is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Mass Attack.

Physical Appearance[]

Gravey is a brown (and occasionally grayish-purple) grave that has a skull design on his forehead. He has glowing red eyes and tiny wings as well as a zigzag pattern across his body.

Games[]

Kirby Mass Attack[]

Gravey appears exclusively in Stages 5 and 6 of Volcano Valley. He is more common in graveyards, as his name implies, as well as the other haunted grounds. The enemy disguises himself as a regular grave, but when the Kirbys approach, he reveals his true form and flies around. As he does so, he hovers over the Kirbys and tries to crush them. Any crushed Kirby is instantly KO'd. The player can defeat him by flicking the Kirbys into him until he breaks.

Purple Gravey is also present in the game, requiring even more hits to be defeated. Gravey can smash Star Blocks and Metal Blocks, which is necessary to obtain a medal.

Etymology[]

Gravey's name comes from "grave," the object he mimics.

Related Quotes[]

Rumor has it that the master of the darkness-shrouded mansion hid a treasure in the garden behind his home. These days, that garden is just another cemetery, and the master is long gone. Or is he? Some say that he's still guarding his treasure to this very day, smashing all that come close.

Trivia[]

  • According to Daroach, one of the Graveys at the end of Stage 6 of Volcano Valley was the owner of the mansion. He possessed a treasure—a rainbow medal—during life that he continues to protect after death.
    • It is unknown what species this Gravey was during life.
