Iron Mam is a mid-boss in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Super Star.

Physical Appearance[]

Iron Mam somewhat resembles an armored baby, with two blue plates above and underneath her head and Kirby-like eyes and blushes. She has blue spiked balls for shoulder pads, giant pink balls for hands, pink metallic shoes, and a pink bow atop her head.

Games[]

Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra[]

Iron Mam attacks by using the two fist-like balls at her sides. She gives the Fighter ability when swallowed. Sometimes, she'll jump and make a star at her front which Kirby can inhale (though the star only appears in the remake).

Iron Mam appears in her own stage, VS. Iron Mam, in the Dyna Blade sub-game. However, this stage is optional and is not required to complete the sub-game.

Iron Mam also appears as the final competitor in the Megaton Punch sub-game.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe[]

Iron Mam cameos as a keychain, using her sprite from Kirby Super Star Ultra.

Trivia[]

  • Iron Mam was likely named that way in the English translation of Kirby Super Star Ultra to make a pun on Iron Man, a Marvel superhero.
    • Notably, Iron Man is the protagonist of his franchise wearing a metal suit. Iron Mam's face bears a striking resemblance to Kirby's (and to an extent, Waddle Dee's) and Iron Mam wears a metal suit.
  • Jukid, another mid-boss in Kirby Super Star, acts very similarly in attack pattern and has disembodied hands.
  • Iron Mam wears red shoes that resemble those of Meta Knight in all of her in-game appearances and in Kirby Super Star artwork; however, in her Kirby Super Star Ultra artwork, she appears to have red feet that are similar to those Kirby possesses.
  • While Iron Mam does not appear in Kirby Star Allies, there is a bigger version called Grand Mam that appears as a boss.
