Enemies with cutter power, Fishbones remain in one location, firing either to the left or to the right, depending on where Kirby is located. You can tell they're about to fire when the red triangle gets larger and shakes. Dodge the shot and inhale the Fishbone before it can reload.

Fishbone is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It gives the Cutter ability when inhaled.

Physical Appearance[]

Fishbone is, as its name suggests, a skeletal fish-like enemy. It is made up of three body pieces shaped as pseudotriangles, each with a different color; the back piece is yellow, the middle piece is orange, and the head is red. The head piece is the largest of the three while the back piece is the smallest. The head piece has a black spot for an eye.

Games[]

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards[]

Fishbone launches its head piece towards Kirby when he approaches. It then grows a new head and repeats the process. If Kirby holds a Fishbone above his head, it will fire its head at enemies. Fishbone is also one of the things fired by Acro during his boss battle.

Big Fishbone appears in Stage 3 of Rock Star as a Room Guarder, guarding the path to the stage's second Crystal Shard; it does not attack directly, only summoning two regular Fishbones, quickly replacing any that are defeated. It takes four hits to defeat.

Trivia[]

  • An enemy from the Super Mario series has the same name, but a completely different attack strategy.
