Kanys are crab-like creatures whose claws can really damage you. Fortunately, they're often asleep. Quickly inhale them as soon as you see them, especially if you're going to be in the water or the air above them.
— Description • Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards Official Strategy Guide (Prima)

Kany is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Dream Land 3. It gives no Copy Ability when inhaled.

Physical Appearance[]

In Kirby's Dream Land 3, Kany is a small red crab with a light red underbelly and big, round eyes. In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Kany instead has a yellow underbelly and an opening in its body that reveals glowing yellow eyes. In Kirby: Right Back at Ya! it closely resembles Peezer, albeit with two eyes instead of one.

Games[]

Kirby's Dream Land 3[]

Kany walks side by side and extends its claws for a while when a player is nearby.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards[]

Kany can either walk back and forth or stand in once place. When Kirby is within a certain distance from Kany, it will snip with its claw(s); the walking Kanys only snip once periodically, while the standing Kany snip four times, using both claws. If Kirby lifts Kany above his head, it will constantly snip with both claws. Big Kany appears in Stage 2 of Aqua Star as a Room Guarder; in addition to summoning regular Kanys, two at a time, Big Kany also moves back and forth, although it does not attack with its claws. It takes four hits to defeat.
