The Remote Controller is an item in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby: Planet Robobot.

Physical Appearance[]

The Remote Controller is a gray controller with four buttons, a +Control Pad, dark gray lines across the back, a green screen on the front, and a yellow antenna on the top.

The robotic Kirby seen in the background looks very similar to the Robobot Armor's cockpit, though it is a whole sphere with an antenna on top. It has clamp-like hands attached to rods, which attach to the main body. It also has red feet with metal soles on them, as if it were wearing shoes.

Games[]

Kirby: Planet Robobot[]

When Kirby or Meta Knight finds a Remote Controller and picks it up, he takes control of a robotic Kirby in the background. The robot copies all of the holder's movements, including jumping, crouching, walking, running, and sliding. The robotic Kirby's only means of attack is the slide attack which can be used to break Star Blocks and hit enemies. It can also do actions when the character holding the Remote Controller isn't doing that action, such as being able to jump from the ground when either Kirby or Meta Knight is already in the air.

The Remote Controller is used to solve puzzles. The robot and the item break if the robot Kirby falls into a pit or takes too much damage, and the robotic Kirby deactivates temporarily if the item is put down.

Trivia[]

  • This item resembles a Game Boy, the second handheld game console released by Nintendo and the platform of several Kirby games such as Kirby's Dream Land.
  • The robotic Kirby copies Kirby's idle animation, even though Kirby can't do his idle animation while holding the Remote Controller.
  • While the Remote Controller item itself does not make an appearance in Kirby Battle Royale, the training dummy that appears in that game resembles the robotic Kirby.
