Beetle appears as an unlockable Copy Ability. It is unlocked in The Cake Royale after obtaining 60 League Points in the Beginner's League; it is also required in the seventh Beginner's League Battle, "The Beetle Lunges." Due to the 3D gameplay, the game lacks directional moves and instead uses multiple attack buttons. Rocket Horn is now a charge move that can be maneuvered and always follows up with a dive if it successfully captures an opponent; Spiral Horn is an aerial move that no longer flies upward; Hardhead Slam has been removed; Catching Horn has been replaced with Forward Lunge, giving it more reach, although it can miss; and all of the throws except Slamming Drill have been removed. It has Headgear based on Hornhead, a woodpecker, and the Hydra.
Beetle also appears as an unlockable Copy Ability in the game's demo, which can be redeemed for 100 Battle Coins.

Trivia[]
This is the second ability to be based on a living creature, the first being Animal and the third being Spider.
This is the fourth ability to give Kirby a unique flying animation. The other three are Jet, Wing, and Cupid.
In Kirby Fighters Deluxe, if the player uses Rocket Horn Dive in the Castle Lololo stage, Beetle Kirby can grab opponents from the level above and force them through the floor.
Beetle's helmet may be partially inspired by some extravagant real-life helmet designs that were worn by military commanders in feudal-era Japan.
Beetle's insectoid helmet may be a visual pun on the name for the Japanese rhinoceros beetle, 兜虫 (kabutomushi), which literally translates to "helmet insect."
Beetle's maneuvers, such as its throws and Spiral Horn, may be inspired from Mushiking: The King of Beetles, an arcade game where beetles battle each other.
Despite Beetle being referred to as the "king of insects," that phrase usually refers to the bee.
