Golem is an large enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. It can give Stone, Wheel, or Fighter when Super Inhaled, depending on its behavior.

Games[]

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror[]

Golem is usually found dormant, but when Kirby passes one or gets close, it wakes up and tries to attack him. Golem comes in three colors, which can be used to determine how it attacks and what Copy Ability it gives; all three variants can give Stone when performing their common behaviors (standing and walking). The brown Golem performs "Jump Press," where it leaps into the air and slams down; this variant always gives Stone. The yellow Golem performs the "Rolling Attack," where it curls up and rolls forward; when rolling, it gives Wheel. The gray Golem typically performs the "Golem Upper," where it performs an uppercut while moving forward slightly; when punching, it gives Fighter. Some gray Golems, however, are capable of performing all three attacking behaviors, particularly those in Olive Ocean and Radish Ruins.

One of King Golem's attacks has him spit a Golem out of his mouth, which can be any of the three variants.

Golems were seen in various pre-release screenshots and in the trailer of the game, but not much is known about their would-be appearance in this game, aside from that their in-game models likely served as the basis for the Golem trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Golem was meant to be the Helper for the Stone ability (as seen when Kirby generates one by giving up his Stone ability). It is unknown however if Golem would provide any different abilities like they did in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, leaving their behavior and form of attacking in this game a mystery. It was also seen in the trailer that Golems were slightly more slow moving than other enemies in the game, most likely due to their particularly bulky stone bodies. Golem's consideration as a Helper likely served as inspiration for the Stone Uppercut move.

Although this game was not released, it would have marked their first appearance as an enemy outside of the Mirror World, and their third overall game appearance (second if not counting the Super Smash Bros. series).

One of many statues found in Mirror Country, far up in the skies of Dream Land. Typically inert, Golems will only move to attack if Kirby draws near. Other Golems protect treasure chests, and some get shot from the mouth of the King Golem. Kirby can inhale Golems from a distance to copy the Stone ability.
