The other half of the Putt/Ignus team, Putts usually wait at the top of a hill with Ignuses and push Ignuses down the slope just as Kirby passes by. Once Ignuses are gone, Putts are helpless.
— Description • Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards Official Strategy Guide (Prima)[1]

Putt is an enemy in the Kirby' series, debuting in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It gives no Copy Ability when inhaled.

Physical Appearance[]

Putt resembles a round green worm with a wide, puppet-like mouth, a small, curled tail, round black eyes, and a small yellow horn on its head. It constantly opens and closes its mouth, as if panting like a dog.

Games[]

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards[]

Putt appears on Shiver Star. It is always seen behind an orange boulder, which it pushes once Kirby is close enough. Since Putt is on a level higher than Kirby, caution is advised when approaching. After heaving its rock at Kirby, the Putt sits there laughing. The rock cannot be inhaled or destroyed and rolls down any slope, so it must be avoided. It is also notable that this enemy is immune to Spark Spark and the missiles from Bomb Bomb will not home in on it.

Etymology[]

Putt's name is derived directly from the word "putt," which describes the motion of lightly touching an object to set forth its motion.

Trivia[]

  • The Prima strategy guide for Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards is flawed; it states that Putts use Ignuses to attack, when they instead use orange boulders. These could probably be another form of Ignus, though.
