Squister is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby Mass Attack. It is a Popopo Islands variant of Squishy.
Physical Appearance[]
Squister is a blue or purple squid with two beady eyes, four arms, and two tentacles. Altogether, it looks like a more colorful Squishy.

Kirby Mass Attack[]
Squister appears exclusively in Stage 1 of Sandy Canyon, Stages 5 and 6 of Dedede Resort, and Stage 4 of Volcano Valley. It attacks by charging up and shooting through the water like a dart, damaging any Kirbys it hits and launching others that are not close enough to be hit directly. After crashing into a wall or similar surface, the enemy is stunned for a few seconds, providing the player an opportunity to safely attack it. Squister takes many Kirbys or multiple assaults from a small group to be defeated.
Purple Squister's attack has different traits from its blue counterpart's. The squid aims itself at the Kirbys rather than shooting in a set direction and is strong enough to break Star Blocks.
Etymology[]
"Squister" may be a portmanteau of "squid," the creature Squister is based on; and "twister," referencing its spinning motion as it charges.
The Japanese name for the blue Squister, ツイッシー (Tsuisshī), may be derived from 突 (tsu), which can mean "to dash forward," "to poke/stab/thrust," or "to bump into," referencing its method of attack; and "Squishy," スクイッシー (Sukuisshī), the enemy it is based on.
The Japanese name for the purple Squister, ポインシー (Poinshī), may be derived from the word "point," ポイント (pointo), referencing how its head becomes a sharp point when attacking that can even destroy blocks; and "Squishy," スクイッシー (Sukuisshī), the enemy it is based on.
