Sleepy Turtle is a large enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby: Planet Robobot. It cannot be inhaled.

Physical Appearance[]

Sleepy Turtle is a massive turtle with yellow skin. It has pointy ears, closed eyelids, and a number of mechanical modifications--a metal jaw, forehead, and ankle bracelets. The turtle's shell is a metallic blue color. It is covered in round blue jewels and white star patterns. In their defeated state, these enemies have spiral eyes.

Games[]

Kirby: Planet Robobot[]

Sleepy Turtle appears exclusively in Stage 1 of Rhythm Route. It sleeps on the ground. When Kirby approaches it from the front, the enemy quickly sticks its head out and tries to catch him in its mouth. If it succeeds, the creature chews on him. It then spits Kirby out after enough chewing or if the player mashes the +Control Pad. If Kirby attempts to attack Sleepy Turtle's head, the enemy retracts into its shell.

Aside from its head, no area on Sleepy Turtle's body is dangerous. Kirby can freely touch its tail and walk on its shell without taking damage.

Sleepy Turtle is immune to all attacks except those used by Robobot Armor, specifically Mike Mode. If a sound attack is directed at the enemy's head, it jolts awake, covers its ears, lets out a roar, and rolls off the stage. A 3D Warp Star then appears to take Kirby to another plane. Meta Knight cannot defeat Sleepy Turtle on his own in the Meta Knightmare Returns sub-game. He can, however, use his Galaxia Darkness attack to defeat them.

  • At the conceptual stage of development, Kirby would have used his Mike Robobot Armor to awaken sleeping dragon enemies instead of Sleepy Turtle.
