The Formula Star is an Air Ride Machine from Kirby Air Ride. It is extremely fast, losing only to the Dragoon and Hydra at its top speed of 71 mph.

The Formula Star is mostly used in the Drag Race of City Trial. Due to its poor traction, steering, and charge, the Formula Star requires a player that has a good understanding of the mechanics of Kirby Air Ride and is not suggested for beginning players for this reason. It has the best Top Speed out of all of the standard vehicles in the game, losing only to the Dragoon and Hydra which can only be used in City Trial; it is therefore the fastest machine available for standard races.

The Formula Star is never preferred for melee matches and only shines in Air Ride courses. However, even in courses (excluding the Nebula Belt, where it excels), the constant turns, take-off cliffs, and ramps hinder a player that wants to use the Formula Star effectively due to it demanding straight courses to obtain top speed.

One of the Formula Star's benefits is the massive boosts it gains in comparison to other vehicles in the game when using boost pads and the speed boost after a successful perfect landing. This becomes even better when a player understands that the Formula Star retains the speed bonuses better than every other vehicle in the game (excluding the legendary ones).
