Gondolus is an enemy in the game Kirby Mass Attack. It only appears in Stage 4 of Sandy Canyon, where it eats a door. The Gondolus can be reached by taking the bottom path at the beginning of the level. Gondolus' theme is called "Swallowed Exit."
Appearance
The Gondolus is a large boat in the shape of an apatosaurus. It's made completely out of stone and metal, with the center of its body being empty. It has a green shell that can be destroyed by throwing objects down on it. Its body has nails sticking out of it. The Gondolus has a long, metal neck with a robotic head. It also wears a pair of purple headphones. The Gondolus also has a pair of wooden wheels that it uses to sail across the sandy river.
Attacks
The Gondolus does not attack Kirby. Rather, the Kirbys have a set amount of time to "defeat" it.
The Gondolus rows down a sandy river, with the door it had previously eaten inside of it. The Kirbys have to use the various enemies and objects, such as Soarars, Jerkweeds, and turnips, to break the Gondolus' shell. If the Gondolus' back is not broken in time, it will fall down the sandy waterfall at the end, along with the Kirbys, resulting in an instant game over.
Etymology
Gondolus' name is derived from the words gondola, a traditional Venetian rowing boat, and apatosaurus, the dinosaur species Gondolus seems to be based off of.
