|— Instruction manual description • Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble|
This is an archery game. Kirby's goal is to pop as many balloons as he can by shooting arrows at them. The player must tilt the Game Boy to aim and press A to fire. When he/she has used up all six arrows, he/she must shake the Game Boy to reload.
While the sun rises over the hills and fluffy clouds drift by, Kirby has fifty seconds to rack up points by hitting balloons. Blue balloons are worth ten points and red balloons are worth twenty points. Every once in a while, a balloon fashioned after King Dedede's head will float through the air in a zigzag motion. It is harder to hit than the other balloons, but Kirby's reward for popping it will be eight hundred points and 30 seconds added to the clock.
A good strategy for earning points is to never miss. The more balloons Kirby hits without missing, the greater his combo will become, and the more points he'll earn.
Once fifty seconds are up, the game will end.
Like all the sub-games in Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble, Kirby's Burst-a-Balloon can only be played if Kirby obtains the Bonus Star and clears the level he found it in.
- The sun in the background looks much like Mr. Bright. However, this sun looks happy and has no hands.
- This is one of the few times Kirby has used a bow and arrow. Others include the Cupid ability from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror and Kirby: Squeak Squad, the Archer ability from Kirby: Triple Deluxe, and the Flaming Arrow combo ability from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
- Even though green and yellow balloons appear on the title screen, they are never seen in the sub-game.
