Light's course is wide and has few bends. The defining feature of the course are three arrows and six exits which provide short cuts in the form of Grind Rails. The arrows and exits are colored red, yellow, and green. Except at the start of the course, there is always one arrow and one exit lit; touching the arrow automatically moves the racer to the matching exit.
Parts of the hexagonal-tiled floor occasionally flash red, and create pillars which rise up to block racers. They only sprout in fixed locations, and remain until collided with, at which point they shatter and slow the racer before sprouting again after some time. It is always three pillars.
