Kirby: Triple Deluxe screenshot
Mamanti looks like a combination of a Blipper and a manta ray. It is blue and spotted with a yellow face and underside. This enemy has a face and goggles similar to those of a Blipper.
Mamanti is first seen in Lollipop Land and it appears in many levels thereafter. These enemies exhibit various behaviors in and out of water. Some only swim back and forth, paying no attention to Kirby. In contrast, other Mamantis slowly pursue the pink puff when he enters the water. A few of these enemies swim in circles between the foreground and background.
When Kirby is on land, Mamantis will often leap out of the water in an attempt to hit him. While some jump at him vertically, others leap from the background into the foreground. If knocked onto land, the enemy will flop around helplessly.
In Kirby: Planet Robobot, Mamanti behaves like it does in Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
Mamanti reappears in Kirby Star Allies as an enemy.
Mamanti's name seems to be derived from the word manta, the aquatic ray the foe is based on.
