—Master's Flavour Text, Kirby & the Amazing Mirror

Master is one of Kirby's special Copy abilities. It is the final weapon of Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, yet can be used outside of the final battle after beating the last boss.

Kirby wields one of Meta Knight's legendary blades, known as the Master Sword, and with it gains a plethora of new abilities, each of which useful for obtaining every treasure in the game, except for those that require the mini ability. While it appears very similar to Sword, Master has more useful properties and more attacks and manoeuvers. So far, it has only appeared in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, where it could be obtained during the showdown with Dark Mind and in a pedestal in Central Circle after beating the game.

The sword that Kirby uses is called the Master Sword, and is not synonymous with the Galaxia. The sword's name likely comes from the fact that it is the game's ultimate ability and can be used to get almost every treasure.

Master, unlike other abilities, will stay on screen forever, even when another ability is gotten. It also won't disappear if it touches spikes, but it still floats up to the top if in water.

[edit] Attacks and Features

Attack Name Controls Description Element
Sword Slash B Kirby slashes the enemy. None
Uppercut Up + B Kirby points his sword up for a split second before stabbing everything above him. Unlike Sword's move of the same name, it is slower but does more damage. None
Multisword Stab B + B + B Kirby attacks with lightning-fast sword slashes that are nearly impossible to see. None
Sword Spin B (midair) Kirby swings the sword quickly in midair, damaging all enemies that come into contact with it. None
Drill Rush Dash + B Kirby drills the sword forward at a ridiculously high speed. A move that Meta Knight uses in Brawl is based on this move. Fire
Sword Beam Hold B + Release B Kirby slashes and a huge sword beam comes out to damage enemies. Unlike Sword's version of this attack, it does not deal the standard damage caused by a regular slash, but rather immense damage that goes much further. None
Down Thrust Down + B (midair) Kirby thrusts his sword down to the floor to inflict massive damage. None
Final Cutter Down + B, then before attack ends, Up + B Kirby jumps in the air and does a flip, then he falls sword outstretched. The attack is basically the same as Sword's.

[edit] Trivia

  • The Master Sword is an important item in several Legend of Zelda games. However, it and the Master ability are very different in appearance and power and the name is probably a coincidence. Ironically, the sword that Sword Kirby wields in several games does bear a resemblance to it.
