Press and hold B to set Kirby ablaze. Use the combo in Stage 2 of Ripple Star to uncover a Shard at the bottom of the well.[1]
— Description • Nintendo Power (Volume #134)

Match Kirby[2] is a combo ability from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards acquired by combining Spark with Burning. With this ability, Kirby rubs a towel on his head until it gathers enough static electricity to ignite his head, then runs around on fire. While on fire, Kirby is invulnerable, destroying most enemies on contact. However, he loses the ability to fly, and cannot stop running until the flames die down.

Trivia

  • Although the description of this ability in Nintendo Power says to use this ability to uncover a Crystal Shard in the well, any Spark mix can do it. However, this is the most convenient if one is to play through the game without quitting or backtracking.
