In Kirby Super Star Ultra, Meta Points look like floating, flashing blue circles that leave a short trail behind them as they move.
In Kirby: Planet Robobot, Meta Points look like light blue orbs with rings of white light that spin randomly around them. In this game, they can also be seen floating both on their own and in a cluster together.
Kirby Super Star Ultra
Meta Points can only be encountered in the sub-game Meta Knightmare Ultra. They appear when Meta Knight defeats an enemy, mid-boss or boss. When released, Meta Points will automatically fly towards Meta Knight; they are then added to a gauge on the lower screen. A maximum of 50 Meta Points may be stored at one time. When collected, the points can be spent on a variety of different moves.
|Meta Quick||8 Meta Points||Meta Knight's movement speed temporarily increases.|
|Knight Call||2 Meta Points||Meta Knight summons a Blade Knight or a Sword Knight as a Helper. If Meta Knight is near a Helper, the player can press "X" to make them disappear.|
|Heal||10 Meta Points||Meta Knight (and his Helper, if he has one) will have all of their health restored.|
|Mach Tornado||30 Meta Points||Meta Knight creates a few tornadoes that spread through the entire screen, thus damaging all foes on-screen. Does 190 damage points. Can damage Reactor directly.|
Different amounts of Meta Points are released depending on the size of the enemy; defeating a regular enemy usually gives one or two Meta Points; defeating a large enemy gives two or three points; defeating a mid-boss gives a large Meta Point, worth 10 regular points; and defeating a boss gives two large Meta Points.
Kirby: Planet Robobot
Meta Points reappear in Kirby: Planet Robobot, and are exclusive to the sub-game Meta Knightmare Returns. In addition to being collected when enemies are defeated, Meta Points may now also appear in a standalone form. Standalone, Meta Points may appear in sizes of 1 point, a large Meta Point worth 5 regular points, and a cluster of 8 points. Bandana Waddle Dee throws a cluster of 8 points at Meta Knight when he passes by.
The moves that Meta Points may be spent on in Meta Knightmare Returns include:
|Meta Quick||8 Meta Points||Meta Knight's movement speed is increased for a short period.|
|Healer||10 Meta Points||Completely replenishes Meta Knight's health.|
|Galaxia Darkness||18 Meta Points||Meta Knight unleashes a powerful attack with Galaxia.|
|Meta Knightmares||35 Meta Points||Meta Knight summons members of the Meta-Knights for a powerful attack.|
- Unlike other bosses in Meta Knightmare Ultra, the Meta Points given by Lololo & Lalala are split up; each boss gives one large Meta Point worth 10 points when defeated.
