Large flying reptiles, Pterans fly by Kirby, apparently uninterested. Make sure you keep an eye on them though. They love to fly into Kirby when he's not looking, or double back and hit him from behind.

Pteran is a regular enemy in Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. They are small purple pterosaurs that will fly right into Kirby when he least expects it. They are one of the few prehistoric enemies that Kirby encounters.

Games

Kirby's Dream Land 3

Pterans are uncommon enemies that will simply fly right into Kirby as soon as they get the chance. Luckily, they are confined to the air and don't fly back to attack Kirby once they pass him.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

Pterans take to the air once more and try catch Kirby off guard again. If they hit a wall they will turn around and fly in the other direction. They behave the same way, except they now have a light blue underbelly instead of a cream colored one. If Kirby holds one above him, he can soar just like a Pteran can.

Physical Appearance

Pteran resembles a stylized pterosaur. It has dark blue skin and its underbelly is portrayed as either a creamy yellow or a pale, whitish blue. It has a large horn-like crest that extends from its head and long, leathery bat-like wings. Pterans are never seen on the ground and thus have no visible feet.
