Sawyer is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It gives the Cutter ability when inhaled.
Physical Appearance[]
Sawyer resembles a buzz saw blade with a red eye in the center.
Sawyers have a nearly identical appearance as the Grinder enemies from Super Mario World and Super Mario Galaxy 2, and behave very similarly as well.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards[]
Sawyer move back and forth along the ground, popping up slightly before turning. Big Sawyer appears in Stage 1 of Ripple Star as a Room Guarder; in addition to summoning Bronto Burts, one at a time, that flies back and forth, Big Sawyer emerges from and hides in the ground, alternating between appearing o the right side and the left side of the arena. It takes six hits to defeat and drop the stage's second Crystal Shard when defeated.
Kirby Star Allies[]
During the mid-boss fight with Vividria, she can paint Sawyer on a canvas and bring it to life.
Etymology[]
Sawyer's name is derived from the term referring to a person who saws wood. Sawyer is also an English surname, and its name could be a reference to the American fictional character Tom Sawyer.
Its Japanese name, ノコギ (Nokogi), comes from the Japanese word for "saw," ノコギリ/のこぎり/鋸 (nokogiri).

- Sawyer, Snipper, Plugg, I³ and Ghost Knight are the only enemies originating in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards to reappear elsewhere in the series.
