The little spiked plant that often comes in stacks is called a Stactus. There's a quick way to defeat it. Take out the top head. It will bring down all the others.

Stactus is a regular enemy appearing in Kirby Mass Attack. It is first seen in Sandy Canyon, being the most common enemy on that world. Stacti are ruled over by Lady Ivy.

Appearance

Most Stacti look like small, green cactuses. They have four droopy needles, a pink flower on top of their head, crescent shaped pupils, and small, stubby arms as well as a smile on their face. Stacti also also come in an orange color as well as a teal color. A Stactus that is teal blue is always in a state where its needles are pointing out.

Attacks

The only attack of the Stacti are protruding thorns. Any Kirby that comes in contact with these thorns when deployed will be hurt. However, the Kirbys can still attack the enemy even when its spikes are protruded. There are three main types of Stacti.

The first type of Stactus is just a lone, green one. They can be defeated without much trouble.

The second type are a stack of Stacti with an orange one on top. Defeating the orange one will automatically defeat the rest of the Stacti beneath, but defeating one of the green ones below it will cause the stack to split up into separate enemies. It is much stronger than the green one.

The third and most dangerous type are the teal stacks of Stacti with an orange one on top. These teal Stacti will always have their spikes protruded, meaning that the Kirbys cannot attack them. The only way to defeat these types of Stacti is to defeat the orange one on the top.

Etymology

Stactus' name is a play on stack (since Stacti are sometimes found stacked on top of each other), and cactus.
