Raging Staff Kirby builds up a large mass of crystalline ice, then shatters it with the final strike, shooting ice debris forward. After the overhead slam that usually ends the move, Kirby leaps forward and does an additional overhead slam. The overhead slam creates a fiery explosion, setting off a blaze on any surface impacted. The final strike releases four water droplets that splash down in front of Kirby. Each of Kirby's strikes summon down a bolt of lightning that hit the tip of the staff, and the overhead slam creates a brief spark wherever the final lightning bolt hits.
Pole Vault Kirby creates a small mass of ice where the staff touches the ground. After Pole Vault, Kirby's falling speed is slowed. The staff leaves behind a small flame wherever it touches the ground. The staff releases a small splash of water wherever it touches the ground. The staff leaves behind a small spark wherever it touches the ground.
Unrelenting Staff Kirby builds up a large mass of crystalline ice on any surface, wall, or ceiling his rapid jabs hit, then shatters the ice with his final strike, shooting ice debris forward. Kirby's rapid jabs create a whirlwind, and instead of his final strike being a jab, he swings his staff overhead. Kirby's rapid jabs each spark a small flame, and his final strike creates a fiery explosion that does not set fire to any nearby surfaces. Kirby's rapid jabs each create a bubble of water, and the final strike releases four water droplets, two to either side of Kirby. Each of Kirby's rapid jabs create a small spark, and his final strike shoots a lightning bolt diagonally downward.
Long Jab N/A Kirby slides a greater distance horizontally while performing the move. N/A N/A N/A
Super Long Jab The staff releases small ice debris at the end of the move. Kirby slides a greater distance horizontally while performing the move. Kirby creates a fiery explosion that does not set fire to any nearby surfaces. The staff releases two water droplets that splash down in front of Kirby. Kirby summons down a bolt of lightning that hits the tip of the staff and leaves a spark behind wherever the lightning lands.
Spinning Staff The staff releases four chunks of ice when it disappears, two to either side. The staff flies upward rapidly, only stopping if it hits a ceiling. The staff shoots four fireballs downwards when it disappears, two to either side of Kirby. The staff transforms into a spinning raincloud that releases a downpour of water before disappearing. When the staff disappears, it creates a large spark in midair that grows before dissipating.

Trivia

In the cover of the 15th volume of Kirby of the Stars: The Story of Dedede Who Lives in Pupupu, Kirby wears a hat similar to Staff.
  • Staff is based on the the Ruyi Jingu Bang, a magical, extendable staff wielded by Sun Wukong from the 16th-century classic Chinese novel Journey to the West.
    • Staff is the second direct reference to Journey to the West in the Kirby game series, the first being Goku's appearance in Kirby's Dream Land 3.
  • Staff, in weapon design, is very similar to Baton, however, Staff works completely differently, being used for physical attacks rather than manipulating enemies' movement. The ability's main attacks also bear similarities to Spear's, having an extended range compared to most melee abilities.
