Sub-games are small games first introduced in Kirby's Adventure in 1993. They are often accessed from the in-game main menu. They are usually optional in nature, and sometimes have to be unlocked by progression within the main story mode of the game. They range from very easy and not really detailed to very challenging with a lot of depth. Starting in 2014, some have been expanded into full games that are sold on the Nintendo eShop.

Unless stated otherwise, sub-games and games that expand on sub-games are non-canon in the Kirby universe.
