Talk: Geg

I know that you think that since Spiky Geg is a Geg, the articles should be merged. But if you want to think like that then why haven't you yet marked carry dee, waddle dee, bandanna waddle dee, gold waddle dee, and big waddle dee to be merged, to?

Those characters belong to the same species, and yes, they all get a mention on the Waddle Dee page. Geg and Spiky Geg are both small articles, so it makes sense to merge them into one. After all, why should every Geg but one appear on an article? They should all be grouped together for logical reasons.

We can't quite do that for Waddle Dee. While every type of Waddle Dee is mentioned on there, we can't just merge every Dee-related article on there -- it would overflow with information. Name Change

With the exceptions of the generic name "Geg" and Spiky Geg, we seem to have gotten the Geg names from The Spriter's Resource. However, no text in-game actually confirms the names Mech Geg, Dust Geg, or Crumb Geg. As for the Japanese:

• Spiky Geg: バリオエッグ (Burr O'Egg)
• Dust Geg: オエッグ (O'Egg)
• Mech Geg: メカオエッグ (Mecha O'Egg)
• Crumb Geg: パカオエッグ (Paka O'Egg)

Splitting or Merging

I feel strange asking this since I supported merging all the Gegs (as seen above), but I may as well: Should we separate all the Gegs into separate articles since each one is officially (Japanese) named now? Or should we merge all the Beanbons, Floofs, and Noserunts (Boh boh and Fuu fuu) into one article? Right now we've got members of the same species from one game being clustered or separated with no real reasoning behind it. There of course would be a limit to this--for example, Flotzo, Takotzo, and Flotzo Borg are only tangentially related, so merging them would be less cohesive than merging all the Floofs.

My suggestion is to split Geg rather than merge the others, since that would require us to merge other enemy species like the Cottas. NerdyBoutKirby I want to go to there~ 21:59, June 25, 2019 (UTC)

I would be fine for splitting as well. We have some weird situations where we have to put multiple infoboxes in one page because the Japanese wiki has multiple pages for it. Iqskirby (talk) 22:13, June 25, 2019 (UTC)
