As you may have noted from the forum post I started before E3, I really expected Nintendo to talk about Kirby's Blowout Blast and also the other 3DS Kirby game they announced, but then I was very very surprised (probably along with all of you!) that they have already announced a Kirby game for the Nintendo Switch! I suppose they are saving Kirby for one of their monthly (or at least close to monthly) Nintendo Directs or one of the other games conferences coming up later (E3 is the biggest one of course but not the only one!)
So, anyway, I should talk about that new Kirby game for the Switch as that's the big new thing! First of all I am happy it's coming out next year because this year my budget for games is already all full up, between Kirby's Blowout Blast, Sonic Mania, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, Super Mario Odyssey, Pokemon, the SNES Classic Edition... as much as I like Kirby it'd be hard to fit it in there! Plus there's that multiplayer one that's supposed to be this holiday I gotta fit in there somewhere! As for the game itself, I really really love that helpers are back! My first Kirby game I played was Kirby Super Star Ultra, and ever since I've been waiting for the helpers to come back. Well, now I've gotten my wish, and it seems they are even better than ever! I also like that some copy abilities that have been absent are returning and mixing abilities has come back too! Personally my favorite part is the graphics style; in Kirby Triple Deluxe and Kirby: Planet Robobot, I was a big fan of the way the cut scenes looked and I have been wanting a whole game that looks like that, in HD, and now here it is! Kirby is usually kind of late to show up to consoles so I am really really happy that he's already gonna be on the Switch! Kirby has been rising in popularity lately (Kirby: Planet Robobot sold very very well for instance), and Nintendo seems to be pulling out all the stops to get the Switch to be a success, so in that regard I'm not surprised they are getting a new Kirby game out so soon for it!
As a whole for their latest games, I think it's really cool to see how they have not thrown out their ideas that were going into Kirby on the Game Cube, such as multiple helpers and using them together, and the 3D play style (and even the look of the environment for that), and I think it is interesting that those are all finally coming to fruition around the same time!
Let's see, so to end this post, I'd like to include a little interaction with users; for that new multiplayer Kirby game, what are you hoping for with it/what do you think it is? They mentioned it's going to be released at retail and also that it is a fighting game, do you think it's Kirby Fighters Deluxe 2/a very expanded version of Kirby Fighters?
Thanks for reading!
