Team Kirby Clash Deluxe: thoughts and experience.

Warning: Spoilers are obligatory (but at this point, if you work on this wiki, you probably know everything)

Kirby: Planet Robobot’s sub-games were great. Kirby 3D Rumble made a return to Kirby being played in a 3D plane, which was last executed since Kirby Air Ride and last experimented on since Kirby's Return to Dream Land’s development cycle. Team Kirby Clash, on the other hand, brought some RPG aspects back to Kirby. While it may not be turn-based, it's still all good fun. Unfortunately, these sub-games were very short. However, with games like Kirby Fighters Deluxe and Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe having been released as expanded versions of the sub-games they were based on, what was to stop the possibility of KPR's sub-games receiving the same…

Kirby: Darkness Arrives

Kirby: Darkness Arrives is the potential name for a remake of Kirby's Dream Land 2. No, I'm not saying KDL2 is going to get a remake, but this blog post is about the concept of said topic: KDL2 getting a remake. Kirby's Dream Land and Kirby's Adventure already have remakes in some shape or form, yet Kirby's Dream Land 2 has yet to be remade, with Kirby Super Star, which came after it, getting its own remake as well. Kirby's Dream Land 2, in a way, is the Metroid 2: Return to Samus of the Kirby franchise; it's rather old, also on a Game Boy, and the main game(s) before it in the series have been remade to fit the current day and age, whereas the games released after it can hold on their own without needing a remake, with one such game practically revo…

Planet Popstar Geography: Minor update

For those interested in the original, which should be read before this one, go here.

So, there was a theory that when Haltmann Works Company invaded Popstar, there were drastic changes to the landscape as a result, aside from mechanization; Nutty Noon was torn down for Revolution Road, White Wafers was melted for Overload Ocean, Onion Ocean was vaporized for Gigabyte Grounds, and Raisin Ruins was taken down in favor of Rhythm Route (or that the city was simply placed i the desert, like Las Vegas). I was a little concerned about the theory, given that I didn't like the idea of Popstar being permanently modified in such a drastic manner, but information appeared dictating that after Star Dream's demise, all the mechanization and planetary ch…

Mega Move-set, Mega Merge, Mega More (don't comment on the majestical alliteration)

There are many Copy Abilities in the Kirby franchise, and with that, changes are inevitable. Some receive moves that are later not used, other times abilities are merged due to their similarities. These are some of the things I'm going to talk about: move-set additions and merging abilities. Keep in mind, not all of the merges are what I want per se, I'm just saying that they're similar and/or that it's a possibility. As for move-sets... I like variety in my moves, although I can admit that some of these might get excessive in order to cram in as many moves as possible. Let's start with building up the move-sets.

In the early days of Kirby, most Copy Abilities only had a single move. In the Dark Matter trilogy, this was somewhat expanded by…

Planet Robobot: Bittersweet moments

Don't get me wrong, Kirby: Planet Robobot is a great game, and a great Kirby game (Return to Dream Land is still my favorite though). It still uses the same general formula as KRtDL as well, but while looking through my pros and cons of this game, I found that various ones were about the same thing. I had some things that I both liked and didn't like at the same time, hence "bittersweet." While I'll probably still talk about some of the things I exclusively enjoyed, I'll mostly be going with some of the topics that had a bit of both.

To start off, Copy Abilities. I've never had a Copy Ability I explicitly hated (not even Sleep, mind you), and that's still the case here, although some obviously have more love than others. The game takes a lo…
